Rishi Sunak faces challenges from E-scooter VOI setting time for essential law change
Leading e-scooter and e-bike hire company Voi is calling on Rishi Sunak’s Government to put a specific particular date for rules to safe the future of the field.

E-scooter trials are still underway in almost 30 regions throughout the UK, with Voi saying it is helping to revolutionise sustainable transport choices along the UK. Voi, which is the greatest e-scooter hire company in the UK, says delaying legislation changes any further could put jobs at risk and hamper expenditure.
Shared e-scooter techniques are usually operate as trials put together by the Administration to provide a new form of eco friendly, user friendly and reasonably priced transport to help local respective authorities reach their net zero targets.
Two-and-a-half years after creating its first design, Voi has seen nearly 1.2 million people take 21.5 million rides, replacing over eight million car journeys.
It has generated in excess of £50million across nearby economies in the cities Voi operates in the UK in 2022 alone.

But gains generated by the micromobility field could be put vulnerable if the Government is unable to give greater clarity about when regulations will be brought onward, Voi has said.
Conversing at the Transportation Pick Committee on Wednesday, Matthew Pencharz, head of public insurance policy for Voi, issued the warning.
He said: “Almost three years after the trials were first started, the interest in e-scooters is proven together with Voi alone having 21 million rides, replacing over eight million car trips.
“However, the current market doesn’t possess guarantee after May next year when the trials are currently due to end.
“Legislation will allow a lot more cities and towns to use e-scooters as a eco friendly technique of transport for their towns, providing a firmer footing for the industry and the careers and investment in touch with it.
